These pictures exist for one reason: to get you to care. On every continent around the globe, animals display an amazing array of shapes, sizes, colors and behaviors. But many are now at risk of extinction. As humans spread out, vast amounts of habitat are lost every day. As the habitat goes, so do the species that depend on it. Amphibians are especially hard hit these days, with approximately half at risk of extinction. This really makes me nervous -- what happens to them could eventually happen to us.

By photographing animals on simple black and white backgrounds, details emerge, adaptations are evident, personalities shine through. Do we really want to live in a world without even one of them?
